SK Fit – A Plan for Godly Health in All Areas of Life

Train yourself for godliness; 8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. 9 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance.  I Tim 4:7b-9

The scriptures are clear that bodily training and discipline have great value.  Spiritual training is of the highest benefit, but that does not mean that the care of the body should be neglected.  As Christians we are called to care for our bodies as I Corinthians 6 tells us “19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

In an effort to promote spiritual AND physical health, SK is offering SK Fit.  The goal of SK Fit is simply to provide an regular opportunity throughout the summer for people to gather, have fun with each other, and get physically fit.  Look for our first SK Fit date in May where we will gather at White Deer Park in Garner on a Saturday morning for 3 stages of activity.  We will have

·    A one mile stroller walk
·    A one mile power walk
·    A light 5k run

There will also be activities for those who are not walking or running, so everyone should come out.  Contact Gordon at 919-412-8161 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            919-412-8161      end_of_the_skype_highlighting or email him at jgordonduncan@yahoo.com for more info.  You can also check the SK Website for more details.
