Change Your Perspective and Change Your World

I read this quote the other day by Stephen R. Covey

“Wisdom is your perspective on life, your sense of balance, your understanding of how the various parts and principles apply and relate to each other. It embraces judgment, discernment, comprehension. It is a gestalt or oneness, and integrated wholeness.”

Yes, wisdom is your perspective on life, and to add to Covey’s thoughts if I can, relating and connecting with others means understanding their perspective.  But understanding people’s perspective is not an easy task.

As a fun mental exercise, I gave Emma, my 3 year old, the camera and told her to take pictures.  I thought looking at the photos that she took would give me a view into her perspective (both literally and mentally) of the world.  The following photos are what she came up with.

What could you do to help you better understand other’s perspective?

Eye level for Emma.

Emma loves to climb on chairs to get whatever we tell her not to touch.

Always fascinated with the computer.

Extreme closeup of Daddy. Thankfully, nosehair free.

The modest artist wanted her picture taken with daddy.

    • I thought she did a great job. We need to encourage her more with the camera.
